What is Mydoh? Mydoh is a Canadian money-management app for children and teens. The parent manages the family wallet and can transfer money to the child, who can then use a digital or physical card for spending.
STEPHANIE8837 as the Mydoh referral code. During our Quebec sign-up, we applied the code then published on this page in the mobile app's promo code field. The new parent may receive $10 when the program conditions are met; the code alone does not guarantee the credit.
What does Mydoh code STEPHANIE8837 give you?
STEPHANIE8837, in uppercase, during the app flow. The new member's and referrer's rewards are separate. The $20 and $30 amounts described below never replace the $10 intended for the new parent.
How to use the Mydoh referral code
Start on the official site or in the app
Visit Mydoh.ca for the current flow. For the account opening itself, plan to use the mobile app: the current official device FAQ says Mydoh is not available on a computer.
Create your parent account
Enter your email, create a password and verify your address with the code received by email.
Enter STEPHANIE8837
When the promo code field appears during sign-up, enter referral code
STEPHANIE8837in uppercase, then use the button provided to apply it.Complete the requested verification
Mydoh may request government-issued ID and a selfie. The official options and precautions are summarized in the next section.
Add your child
Enter their first name, last name, date of birth and email, then send the invitation in the app.
Have the child complete enrollment
The email contains a link to Mydoh.ca. The child must download or open the Mydoh app on their own device, enter the family invitation code received by email and confirm their date of birth. A notification then confirms to the parent that the child enrolled in Mydoh.
Fund the wallet
After the child's account is activated, add funds with an option offered by Mydoh. Bonus timing differed in our two real observations; see the results below.
Where do you enter the Mydoh referral code?
During our real Quebec test, the parent account was created first and the code then published on this page was applied in the mobile app after signing in. The exact location may change with an update.
STEPHANIE8837
The official FAQ says to enter the code during the onboarding process. In practice, do not look for a field on this Cash Instinct page: the code must be validated in the Mydoh flow, not in a third-party payment form.
Conditions to keep in mind for the $10 bonus
- The code is reserved for new Mydoh users according to the official referral FAQ.
- The app terms apply to a parent or guardian in Canada who has reached the age of majority in their province.
- The terms define a completed referral as using the code when creating the parent wallet and creating a Mydoh account for the child.
- The referral must be completed by following the steps shown by Mydoh, including creating the child's account and funding the wallet.
- A reward credit may be held in the wallet for 30 days before it can be withdrawn; Mydoh may also refuse or cancel a credit in cases of abuse or non-compliance.
Identity verification and selfie
Parent verification is part of the official account-opening flow. During our test, the app offered two options: a Canadian driver's licence or a Canadian passport. This observation should not be treated as a universal list without checking Mydoh.
The official identity FAQ currently lists driver's licences from all provinces, a valid Canadian passport, certain provincial photo IDs (Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Nova Scotia, Ontario and Saskatchewan) and a Canadian permanent resident card. The document must not be expired or damaged to the point of being unreadable. A health card is not listed.
The screenshot below documents the screen shown during our Quebec flow, in the French-language app. It does not replace the official list: Mydoh may show different options depending on the flow, province or an update.
After the document step, Mydoh may request a selfie. Official instructions recommend good lighting and a clear face without glasses or non-religious headwear. The app terms say images are kept until verification is complete and then destroyed 90 days later; if the process is abandoned after document verification, information from the document may be kept for up to one year.
Adding your child to Mydoh
After verification, the parent can add the child in the app. Our flow asked for the child's first name, last name, date of birth and email address. The invitation is then sent by email.
Date tip: choose the birth year first. If the selector remains on the current year, future months may be greyed out and appear unavailable.
The invitation email contains a link that simply leads to Mydoh.ca. The child must then download or open the Mydoh app on their own device, enter the family invitation code received by email and confirm their date of birth. A notification then confirms to the parent that the child enrolled in Mydoh.
The child's invitation code is separate from STEPHANIE8837 and is used only to connect the child to the Mydoh family; never publish it or confuse it with the referral code.
How do you add money to Mydoh?
After the child's account is activated, the app offers several ways to add money to the wallet. These are the options and timelines shown during our real flow:
| Option | Displayed timeline or detail |
|---|---|
| Apple Pay | Instant receipt advertised; Mydoh recommended this option. |
| RBC online banking | RBC chequing account or credit card; instant receipt advertised. |
| Interac e-Transfer | Receipt advertised within 30 minutes. |
| Debit card | Eligible Visa Debit or Debit Mastercard; instant receipt advertised. |
In the Apple Pay flow we tested, Mydoh accepted only Canadian debit cards and refused credit cards through Apple Pay. Some financial institutions may also not allow funding by Interac e-Transfer; Mydoh then suggests using Apple Pay.
The app also offers automatic funding with a debit card or through Interac e-Transfer.
The child's account was activated at 11:40 a.m. and the first funding transaction took place at 1:46 p.m. We added $1 through Apple Pay with a Canadian debit card; the deposit was added to the wallet immediately, then the $10 referral bonus was credited immediately afterward. The wallet then displayed $11.
This is an observation from this specific flow: the $1 deposit and immediate timing are not a guarantee for every account.
Observation on an acquaintance’s accountThe child enrolled on September 13 at 9:46 a.m., followed by a $1.00 first wallet funding at 9:47 a.m. The $10.00 referral bonus was credited on September 14 at 7:40 p.m., about 34 hours after funding.
In our first flow, the same bonus appeared immediately. These two observations show that timing can vary; no immediate credit does not necessarily mean the code failed.
Mydoh digital or physical card
| Option | What Mydoh currently says |
|---|---|
| Digital card | Available immediately after the child's account is activated for eligible purchases. |
| Classic card | Physical card with no additional fee according to the official FAQ; the displayed delivery time is 7 to 10 business days. |
| Mydoh by Me | Optional personalization of the physical card, with a one-time fee of $6.99 per card according to the current official FAQ. |
Personalization is separate from the service and referral bonus. Card fees and terms may change: check the order screen before confirming.
Is Mydoh available in Quebec?
Yes. RBC says it expanded Mydoh to Quebec in 2024, and the Quebec launch was announced on September 12, 2024. Current information on the Mydoh site and the eligibility shown in the app take precedence over older third-party articles that say otherwise.
How do Mydoh referral tiers work?
The current terms and referral FAQ list the following referrer rewards per referral year. Tier 3 is $30 per referral, for referrals 7 to 16; it is not a $20 alternative. The tiers reset on June 1.
Summary shown in the French-language Mydoh app: « Donnez 10 $, recevez jusqu’à 30 $ » (our translation: “Give $10, get up to $30”). The new parent's $10 remains a separate reward.
| Completed referrals | Referrer reward | New-parent reward |
|---|---|---|
| 1 to 2 | $10 each | $10 |
| 3 to 6 | $20 each | $10 |
| 7 to 16 | $30 each | $10 |
Mydoh referral code FAQ
What is the Mydoh referral code?
The Mydoh referral code currently published on this page is STEPHANIE8837. The new parent enters it in the promo code field when it appears during sign-up. The child's invitation code is separate and is used to connect the child's account to the family.
How much do you get with code STEPHANIE8837?
The new parent receives a $10 reward when the program conditions are met. The amount does not become $20 or $30 based on the referrer's tiers: those amounts apply to the referrer's reward, not the new member's.
Where do I enter the Mydoh promo or referral code?
During our Quebec sign-up, the code then published on this page was entered in the mobile app after creating and signing in to the parent account. For the current flow, enter STEPHANIE8837 in the promo code field when it appears; the interface may use different wording or change over time.
Can you enter the code after creating your Mydoh account?
Our real flow shows that the field may appear after creating and signing in to the parent account in the app. The official terms refer to using the code when creating the parent wallet and before the end of the referral year. Enter it as soon as the field appears and do not rely on a retroactive correction.
Do you need to use the Mydoh mobile app?
For our test, the mobile app was necessary to apply the code and continue opening the account. The current official device FAQ also says Mydoh is not available on a computer, even though our observed flow began on a computer. Treat the app as the preferred path and check the official screen shown when you enroll.
Is Mydoh available in Quebec?
Yes. The current official site presents Mydoh as a service for Canadian families; the eligibility terms and availability shown by Mydoh at enrollment take precedence.
Is Mydoh free?
Mydoh currently says it charges no monthly fee and allows up to two parents and five children on one account without a monthly subscription. The classic card is free according to the official FAQ; the personalized Mydoh by Me card costs $6.99 as a one-time charge, subject to the displayed terms and fees.
How old must a child be to use Mydoh?
Official sources differ: the home page says ages 6 to 17, while the detailed FAQ says 6 to 18. This guide uses 6 to 17, but check the eligibility shown in the app. The FAQ also says a parent account can currently include up to five children.
Which ID documents does Mydoh accept?
The official identity FAQ lists a driver's licence from any province, a valid Canadian passport, certain provincial photo IDs (Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Nova Scotia, Ontario and Saskatchewan) and a Canadian permanent resident card. The document must not be expired or too damaged to read. A health card is not listed as an option.
Why does Mydoh ask for a selfie?
Mydoh may request a selfie to compare the image with the ID document as part of remote identity verification. The app terms say images are kept until the process is complete and then destroyed 90 days later, except for the separate case of a process abandoned or cancelled after document verification.
Is the Mydoh physical card free?
The classic card is shown as free. The digital card is available for immediate use after the child's account is activated. Mydoh by Me personalization is optional and currently costs $6.99 per card according to the official FAQ.
What is the difference between the referral code and the child's invitation code?
The referral code currently published on this page, STEPHANIE8837, is for the new parent. The child then receives a separate invitation code, generally by email, used only to connect their account to the family. Never publish the child's invitation code.
How much can a Mydoh referrer earn?
The current app terms and referral FAQ state $10 for each of the first two referrals, $20 for each of the next four, then $30 for each of the next ten, up to $400 per referral year. Tier 3 is therefore $30 per referral, not a $20 alternative. The maximum calculation is 2 × $10 + 4 × $20 + 10 × $30 = $400.
When do you receive the $10 bonus?
The code must be applied during the flow, the child's account must be created and the wallet funded according to Mydoh's displayed steps. Timing differed in two real observations: in our Quebec test, the $10 bonus was credited immediately after a $1 first funding transaction; on an acquaintance's account, it arrived about 34 hours after a $1 first funding transaction. An immediate credit is not guaranteed, and a bonus that does not appear right away does not necessarily mean the code failed. Once credited, the bonus cannot be withdrawn for 30 days.
Is a Mydoh promo code the same as a referral code?
For this offer, STEPHANIE8837 is the referral code for the new parent to enter in the promo code field when it appears during sign-up. Not every promo code is necessarily a referral code; do not confuse it with the family invitation code sent to the child.
